01/17/2009 - Chicago, IL (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - Chris Drury's second goal of the contest, a power-play marker with 2:37 left in overtime, sent the New York Rangers past Chicago, 3-2, at United Center.
With Chicago forward Andrew Ladd in the box for slashing, Drury won a right- circle faceoff to defenseman Michal Rozsival, who moved to the left point and fed to Wade Redden. His wrister from the right point was tipped in front by Drury for the game-winner.
Brandon Dubinsky also lit the lamp for the Rangers, who have won three in a row, all on the road. Henrik Lundqvist made 32 stops for the victory.
"They've done a lot to improve the game, but you have to move forward," Lundqvist said of the 19 penalties which resulted in four two-man advantages for Chicago to just one for New York. "The way they called the game was almost laughable. I almost can't enjoy the win, I'm so upset with the calls."
Jonathan Toews and Brent Seabrook each scored once for the Blackhawks, who had a two-game win streak halted. Nikolai Khabibulin made just 19 saves in the loss.
Toews gave the Hawks a 1-0 edge late in the first period, and Chicago was unable to capitalize on a two-minute 5-on-3 power play before the buzzer.
The Rangers had their own two-man edge early in the second and Drury pumped a shot home at 6:24.
New York took a 2-1 lead 7:58 into the third period, as Lauri Korpikoski faked a shot in the left circle, pulled the puck back and dished across to Dubinsky for an easy tap-in.
Seabrook blasted a shot past an unscreened Lundqvist with 4:29 remaining to pull Chicago even while on another two-man advantage.
"Sometimes we got our shots through but we missed a ton of opportunities," said Hawks defenseman Brian Campbell. "We all have our jobs and we all have to do our jobs in all areas to succeed."
