Bengals place DT Sims on IR; bring back CB Ratliff

01/04/2010 - Cincinnati, OH (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - The Cincinnati Bengals placed defensive tackle Pat Sims on injured reserve and signed cornerback Keiwan Ratliff on Monday.

Sims, in his second year out of Auburn, suffered a broken forearm in the Bengals' 37-0 shellacking to the New York Jets on Sunday night.

Ratliff was selected in the second round of the 2004 draft by Cincinnati and played in parts of four seasons with the club. He appeared in eight games for Pittsburgh this year before getting released in late November.

The 28-year-old could also see time at the safety position on Saturday when the Bengals host the Jets in an AFC Wild Card game as Chris Crocker (ankle) and Tom Nelson (knee) have been battling injuries.
